Urgent need for volunteers: 3 opportunities for UofT students to participate in 3 *NEW*Alternative Reading Week projects!
These are CCR-accredited projects that are mostly arts-based and also requiring program/admin support, aiming to fulfill community-identified needs surrounding youth, and Black history.

Project 36 w/ Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre,

Waterfront/ Downtown
Needs 4 students!
Dates: Feb 21st: 1-7pm
Feb 22nd:1-7:30pm
Feb 23rd: 11am-6pm
Project details: Youth and Black History Month Programming and Admin Support. Students will take on/share three tasks: admin support, assist with planning and promotion of Black History Month and/or supporting youth programs in the space.
Students applying must have a passion for youth, Black History Month, and interacting with community members

Project 37 w/ Albion Neighbourhood Services, 21 Panorama Court
Rexdale and more in North and West Toronto
Needs 10 students!
Dates: Feb 21st: 2 – 6pm
Feb 22nd/23rd: 2 – 630pm
Project details: Black History Month and Youth. Students will present a visual presentation of Black History through theatre, PowerPoint, or other visuals to youth aged 13-18 and host a panel (or other) discussion to talk to small groups of youth and address questions or concerns.
Students applying need to have skills/experiences with Black History, Youth and/or drama

Dates: Feb 21st: 2 – 6pm
Feb 22nd/23rd: 2 – 630pm
Project details: ANS ‘Walk Down Kipling’ Mural. Students will be creating a mural either using a spray painting technique or actual paint on a wall. The mural aims to tell the story of Kipling and Finch by involving both youth and kids from ANS’ afterschool and youth programs.
Students applying need to have artistic skills!
